Emergency Event Notification - Rabies Alert being issued for Seminole County

Due to animals having tested postive for rabies in Seminole County, the Seminole County Health Department, in cooperation with Seminole County Animal Services, is issuing a Rabies Alert for Seminole County. This alert is to remain in effect until further notice. All emergency workers, residents and visitors to Seminole County should follow the following safety measures: 1- Dogs, cats and ferrets must be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. 2- Pets must be under leash control or in a fenced setting when outdoors. 3- Do not leave pet food or feed your animals outside. 4- Keep your property free of garbage. If trash must be stored outside at night, it should be put in a sturdy, tightly closed container. 5- The public should not keep wildlife as pets or interact with strange or sick domestic pets, livestock, or wild animals. 6- Notify Animal Services if you have any stray animals in your neighborhood.
