E-mail sent on behalf of Craig McLaughlin, Area Manager, Stakeholder Liaison Dear FSEA Officers and Chapter Presidents:
I
want to take this opportunity to announce our new organization,
Communications, Liaison, & Disclosure. CLD is a newly formed
organization that combines the former Internal Revenue Service
Taxpayer Education & Communication (TEC), Communications & Liaison
(C&L), and Disclosure functions. We're renaming TEC to Stakeholder
Liaison (SL) because the new name best reflects our focus on
strengthening our partnership with you. I am the Stakeholder
Liaison Field Area Manager for this organization. I will continue
to be located out of the The Stakeholder Liaison function of the new CLD organization will focus on the following three program priorities: · Practitioner Liaison · Stakeholder Engagement · Support of Strategic Compliance Initiatives Our goal is to enhance the quality of our partnership with practitioners and work together for more effective tax administration. We're committed to having year-round interaction and providing better service. You should see better coordination of the messages your members receive from a national and local perspective. We plan on engaging practitioners at meetings, seminars, and forums to provide updated information on IRS policies and procedures and to get your feedback to help us plan for the future delivery of products and programs that meet your needs. I would like to work with organizations like yours to schedule regular meetings, conference calls and secure speakers for upcoming events as part of our stakeholder relationship management strategy. As a key member of the local tax professional community, you will continue to be an important focus of our program priorities. Your organization plays a critical role in ensuring the continued success in our relationship management efforts with the tax practitioner community. We're also refining our method for identifying and tracking local and national issues that you raise, and ensuring their appropriate and timely resolution. We're calling it the Issue Management Resolution System (IMRS). This system will go a long way in allowing us to effectively monitor and resolve any technical (tax) and procedural issues practitioners may have with the Service. My entire staff and I look forward to working with the tax professional community on tax compliance issues and providing information on our products and services. Please feel free to call me directly if you have any questions. I can be reached at (954) 423-7748 or via e-mail at craig.mclaughlin@irs.gov. You may also contact Melaney Partner to discuss and plan any upcoming events. She may be reached at 813-315-2229 or via e-mail at melaney.partner@irs.gov. Sincerely, Craig G.
